1. Introduction

Since there are no 4D/5D standards in DCI specification, so do not support the existing 4D show commercial films, 4D movies of 4D hall are less. This resulted in a 4D device idle.

For the audience, the film subject matter existing 4D less, showing the length of time, it is difficult to meet the requirements of the audience; for theater, film themes by 4D, screening length limit, it is difficult to form a stable, large passenger flow, thus affecting the theater box office receipts

After install Hydra 4D system into 4D hall, to achieve the following objectives:

● Can playback 2D/3D commercial movie with 4D, commercial films to achieve through the 4D results, greatly enriched the 4D movie theme, but the film is different from the ordinary 4D 2D/3D unique 4D movie experience, help to attract general audience, pulled up at the box office.

● As is shown by the 4D movie playback device 2K/4K, 2K/4K server so you can take full advantage of automation and management features, implement screening of a key operation.

● 4D through the original film turn into a commercial video formats, video playback format can be integrated, unified 2K/4K Video playback server, eliminating the need for 4D Server and 2/4K server switch back and forth, a unified way using a screening , simplified operation and operating procedures.

● and after conversion and uniform playback, you can use 2K/4K powerful server to achieve the play list management, a series of films can be ranked on film management, and through 2K/4K TMS server management software for remote management and playback .

Hydra 4D contain content editor and playback system. The editor converts DCI-compliant 2D/3D movie to 4D movie, and playback in DCI-compliant Digital Cinema Server. The playback system plays the movie which make by Hydra 4D editor. 

After install Hydra 4D system between original 4D system and 2K/4K digital cinema server, the original 4D hall will have playback commercial 2D/3D with 4D.

2. Feature of Leonis Cinema 4D/5D Digital Cinema Edit & Playback System (Hydra4D)

Hydra4D system consists of two parts: 4D Action Editor and 4D Action.

4D Action Editor：

Hydra4D can convert any DCI-compliant 2D/3D movie into 4D movies in the 2K/4K DCI-compliant digital cinema server.

3. Architecture of Leonis Cinema 4D/5D System

Hydra4D have three architectures:

● Using LTC sync signal. We will add a Hydra 4D server between digital cinema server and action controller, and communication with them by LTC.

● Using GPIO sync signal. We will add a Hydra 4D server between digital cinema server and action controller, and communication with them by GPIO. 

● Integrated with digital cinema server and Hydra 4D server. Hydra 4D software will integrate into digital cinema server.

Software what install in anywhere. It used to create action file for movie.

Use Action4D, we can manage many action package files. We can ingest, delete, execute action package file. And also, can delete, cancel, re-execute, stop the executing action package file. The software also has action test function, we can test 4D system with action test function.

Action4D Editor can edit max 45 kinds actions, User add a timeline action basic movie content, and export an action package file. Action 4D Editor also can capture action package file from other 4D server, and export an action package file.
